Terence O’Rourke gains consent for new Cambridgeshire community

Press Release: 30:08:19

Terence O’Rourke has secured planning permission for the first phase of residential development at Marleigh in East Cambridgeshire, on behalf of Hill Marshall LLP.

Following the grant of two outline planning permissions in 2016 for 1,300 new homes across two Cambridge council boundaries, the current phase will provide 239 high quality new homes, including 77 affordable homes, designed by architectural practice Pollard Thomas Edwards. The scheme was approved unanimously at the August Joint Development Control Committee in Cambridgeshire.

In addition to the new homes, the proposals incorporate a new local centre and community facilities including office space, café, retail space and a centre-piece market square. There will also be a new nursery and primary school for local residents.

Future phases will include the remaining additional homes, landscaping, sports pitches and allotments.
