The flagship UK Mercedes-Benz World opened in 2008 at the world’s first purpose-built racing circuit. Terence O’Rourke led the process of consultation, environmental impact assessment and overall project design to gain outline planning consent, overcoming significant conservation, flooding and traffic constraints. The project was awarded a national RTPI Award for Conservation in 2008.
