Award-winning planning and design consultancy Terence O'Rourke is celebrating the New Year after getting the go-ahead for two high profile developments.
The successful proposals consist of two new luxury Treehouses for world-renowned New Forest hotel Chewton Glen and a major residential and commercial development in Colchester.
It means Chewton Glen will soon be adding two more suites to its idyllic Treehouses with even greater exclusivity and splendour to those currently available. The Treehouse suites include terraces and hot tubs, all with stunning valley views from a tree canopy.
Already having a variety of Treehouse suites on-site helped pave the way for planners to grant permission – reinforcing the hotel’s reputation as a place of opulence that attracts high quality clientele.
Terence O‘Rourke also received the green light from Colchester Council for the Lakelands Development Site after persuading planners to give consent to building 65 houses, despite the land being zoned for employment use. The dwellings will include affordable housing and have access roads and car parking.
Tim Hancock, managing director of Bournemouth-based Terence O’Rourke, said: “We are delighted to start the year off in such positive fashion with two high profile proposals being accepted.
“The go-ahead for two additional Treehouse suites at Chewton Glen will only add to its reputation as a world class hotel that offers a special retreat for people to relax. For Lakelands Development Site, this area will be transformed for the better with much needed housing and a flexible mix of commercial accommodation.
“We faced challenges with both developments but believe the decision of the planners to grant permission supports our belief of the massive economic benefits these areas stand to gain from the proposals.”
