Terence O’Rourke at forefront of West Midlands economic growth debate

Press Release: 17:09:18

This week, Terence O’Rourke will be taking centre stage in a lively and interactive debate at the West Midlands Forum for Growth, to be held at the Vox Conference Centre in Birmingham.

Now in its third year, the theme for this year’s event is The UK’s New Growth Capital. The conference allows public and private sector leaders to come together for one day to engage and debate the key issues in growing the West Midlands economy and will include a mix of keynote speakers, panel sessions, presentations and breakout sessions.

The West Midlands is currently the fastest-growing city region outside of London and boasts an economy worth circa £85 billion of GVA. In what is considered a ‘once in a generation’ time for the region at the epicentre of UK financial growth and opportunity, cities such as Coventry (UK City of Culture 2021) and Birmingham (Commonwealth Games 2022) are seeing unprecedented levels of growth and development. The West Midlands Forum for Growth will showcase major game-changing projects and explore growth opportunities, whilst promoting the region’s next generation of talent, enterprise, innovation and technologies.

Conference Partners Terence O’Rourke will also be sponsoring the third panel session of the day, Delivering More Homes, which will be chaired by Terence O’Rourke Director Faraz Baber and will include discussion with Tony Pidgley CBE, Chairman of the Berkeley Group. In what promises to be a lively discussion, the panel will look at how the West Midlands will achieve a target of 215,000 new homes and discuss the challenges and barriers to achieving success, as well as what role modular housing will play in future development.

All the information on the day can be found at the official Conference website:
