Planning and design consultancy, Terence O’Rourke, has been named as the industry’s employer of the year by the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Terence O’Rourke, which has offices in London and Bournemouth, has been established for over 30 years and is currently working on securing the delivery of over 40,000 homes across London, the South East, South West, West Midlands and East Anglia. As well as helping to deliver several estate regeneration schemes in London, the company has been responsible for overseeing a number of high profile projects, including the Cambridgeshire new settlement at Northstowe, the creation of the Warner Bros. Leavesden Studios and Harry Potter Studio Tour, the McLaren Technology Group's Campus at Woking, the luxury treetop retreat at Chewton Glen Hotel, Mercedes-Benz World, Brooklands and the expansion of London Luton Airport.
Tim Hancock, Managing Director, says: “This year we have made considerable investment in our team, so we are delighted to win the Best Employer Award. Teamwork has always been a fundamental ingredient to achieving success for our clients and as we have grown and expanded our numbers, we have striven to maintain a ‘family-like’ culture. Initiatives to give something back, such as our annual travel award, are great ways to inspire our team to do something extraordinary.
“In the last 12 months, we have brought in a number of in-demand industry leaders, undertaken thought provoking research projects and been involved in numerous high profile projects. All of this underpins our desire to help our colleagues grow professionally and enjoy their day to day work.”
