Solstice Renewables Ltd appointed Terence O’Rourke Ltd to project manage planning applications for a number of solar farms in England.
We coordinated an in-house team of planners, environmental managers, landscape architects, GIS and graphic design specialists and liaised closely with Solstice’s team of technical specialists. The practice also assisted with public consultation events and liaison with local members, officers and consultees.
Our integrated approach and range of in-house expertise were ideally suited to address key planning and EIA issues associated with these projects. We prepared robust planning applications within a demanding timeframe and were successful in demonstrating the acceptability of the schemes.
Since 2014 planning permission has been granted for eight solar farms in England (38.7MW) including a 5MW scheme near Ashby-de-la Zouch, North West Leicestershire and a 5MW scheme north of Telford, both of which are operational. Planning consent was also granted for a 1.7MW scheme close to Rugeley in Staffordshire and a 1MW community solar farm near Ashby-de-la-Zouch, which have not yet been constructed.
