The practice was commissioned as planners, environmental consultants and urban designers for a major mixed-use urban development proposal on a former brickworks site in Milton Keynes.
The scheme consists of 1,650 homes, substantial employment opportunities, a community centre and a new urban park. We successfully secured an allocation for the site through the local plan process, before negotiating outline planning permission on behalf of the landowner.
Throughout this process we led a multidisciplinary team to overcome a range of complex technical issues including design, highways, contamination, landscape and ecology. This was achieved through continuous dialogue with the local authority, statutory organisations and local community, alongside the production of a range of information including an environmental statement, design code and planning statement.
The site was subsequently sold to a national housebuilder who is developing the scheme in phases.
