The practice was lead consultant preparing an outline planning application, master plan and design and access statement for a sustainable new quarter in south west Bicester.

The proposal, permitted with a unanimous committee vote, comprises 1,585 homes, new schools, commercial and healthcare uses, public open space and a mixed use local centre.

The master planning process challenged the council’s original ideas of how the site should be developed. Through strong site analysis and sensitive and creative thinking, a better, more robust and sustainable master plan was developed and approved. This approach significantly increased development potential.

A planning application for phase 2 (726 units) of South West Bicester which built on this earlier work was subsequently approved in May 2017 and we continue to be appointed through the implementation stages of the development, including preparation of design codes for both phases of the scheme.
