Client: Crest Nicholson
Terence O'Rourke was appointed by Crest Nicholson at an early stage of the project to prepare visioning material which led to a site allocation within the Local Plan. This was followed by the preparation of a hybrid application involving a Design and Access Statement (including Design Coding) and illustrative masterplan for Westwood Heath.
The proposal, approved in spring 2018, comprises 425 homes in a 21st Century Garden Village setting, with a detailed first phase delivering 129 dwellings.
The masterplan includes a convenience store, formal and informal open space, allotment and a community orchard. It is characterised by lower density family housing with generous front and rear gardens, on-plot parking and tree lined streets and spaces. It is structured by a landscape-led approach that is responsive to setting and enhances its sustainable location.
