Terence O’Rourke worked with Mercedes-Benz, hotelier Ken McCulloch and ex-Formula 1 racing driver David Coulthard to gain planning permission for a new, architecturally striking 120-bed hotel at the former Brooklands motor racing circuit, Surrey.
Surrounded by the history and atmosphere of the legendary banked track, the hotel opened in 2010 and provides luxurious guest accommodation, conferencing and spa facilities.
We had already gained permission for the development of Mercedes-Benz World at the site, which combines the marque’s unique motoring heritage with state of the art technology and an advanced driving facility. The hotel adds a further dimension to this very special site and, by meeting the needs of racing enthusiasts, local residents and business guests alike, assists in preserving the history of the world’s first purpose-built motor racing circuit.
