Terence O’Rourke were appointed by Acton Gardens to secure reserved matters planning consent for phase 5 of the ongoing regeneration of the South Acton estate.
Phase 5 of the scheme, designed by architect HTA Design LLP, comprises 271 new homes in 4 blocks ranging from 5-12 storeys providing a mixed tenure residential development, including private for rent (PRS) accommodation.
Following our successful involvement in earlier phases, we advised the team on how to secure development outside of the parameters of the approved master plan. Our advice helped secure a negative EIA Screening opinion and enabled the proposals to be brought forward by reserved matters following amendment to the outline permission via a concurrent s73 application.
The project was praised for its design quality by planning officers and committee members, which was borne from a strong consultation process with local residents, steering groups, LB Ealing and a Cabe Design Review, led by Terence O’Rourke.
Planning permission was secured in March 2015 ahead of the determination date.
