2012: London Planning Awards - Commendation - Best Built Project Five Years On

2009: RICS London Region Awards - Regeneration Award - Stonebridge Estate, London (master planner, with Shepheard Epstein Hunter)

We were appointed as master planner for the redevelopment of this London estate in 1996 and have continued to be involved with its redevelopment since then. The scheme included re-providing 1,600 new homes, shopping areas, health and community facilities and recreation areas.

A comprehensive consultation programme was a key element, involving workshops, site visits, newsletters, exhibitions, site models and a video explaining the options. Tenants then voted for their preferred option. Eight teams were involved in the first phase alone. We coordinated their work, providing an interface with the planning and highway authorities. Detailed programming ensured that, in line with HAT policy, tenants moved only once.

As master planners, urban designers, planners, architects and landscape architects, we continue to assist in the implementation of the final phases of development. The scheme has won several awards including a Royal Town Planning Institute Award in 2005 and a European Urban and Regional Planning Award in 2008.

Our experience here has led to involvement with other large scale housing regeneration projects notably South Kilburn and South Acton.
