2007: British Homes Awards - Commendation for Housing Project of the Year
The practice was appointed lead consultant, as part of a team, to work on the planning, architecture and landscape architecture for Vision, Devonport. The award winning project is ground breaking in its delivery of high mixed-use densities and social integration of a fractured community; the project’s aims are to breathe life back into the heart of Devonport. The mixed use scheme comprises 463 residential units and 10,000sqm of commercial uses, including B1/B2 office buildings, a police station, supermarket, public library and mixed retail units.
Enhanced access to public transport and the promotion of walking and cycling, rather than dependence on the car, will help to create a sustainable and safer living environment. The existing market hall and clock tower will be the focus of the regeneration, helping to create a sense of place and local landmark. The homes are built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 with Lifetime homes and HQI standards included, commercial buildings are constructed to BREEAM excellent.
