We have provided ongoing planning and environmental advice for one of the largest brownfield mixed use developments in the south west at the former Gloucester Airfield.
Outline planning permission was granted in 1992 for approximately 418,000 square metres of business and industrial space that will generate around 10,000 jobs. Since then, we have helped extend the lifetime of the planning permission and taken the project forward to a third generation, mixed use, scheme by securing a new district centre allocation. This revision to the scheme, which involved extensive negotiation, includes shops, a hotel, leisure and community uses and almost 2,000 new homes. The scheme is set in a high quality environment with structural planting and pleasant public spaces including squares and water features, helping to attract investment with resultant community regeneration in the neighbouring areas.
