Located at the heart of the Silverstone Technology Cluster and adjacent to the home of British motor racing, Silverstone Park provides a global destination for innovation, business development and engineering.

Terence O’Rourke has provided comprehensive planning advice relating to Silverstone Park since MEPC acquired the site in 2013. We had previously advised the British Racing Drivers’ Club and Silverstone Circuits Ltd for a number of years, securing planning consents for a number of developments at the Circuit, including a mix of commercial and motorsport-related floorspace, alterations to the racing track, the Silverstone Wing pit and paddock facility, hospitality suites and a new media centre.

In January 2016, we obtained planning consent on behalf of MEPC for 14 new speculative units for high-tech engineering companies, which were completed in November 2016. In parallel, we commenced work on a new outline application for over 2 million sq ft of commercial development. After a period of engagement with SNC and AVDC, a committee resolution was achieved in December 2016 followed by the negotiation of the s106 agreement and grant of planning consent in May 2017.

We have been retained by MEPC to prepare reserved matters applications and to provide advice on future development opportunities at Silverstone Park. The first reserved matters permission has been granted for approximately 275,000 sq ft of commercial floorspace.
